The Beginning and History of Slow and Steady Genetics Cannabis.

I was a union carpenter in the St. Louis area and with the same company for 15 years. In 2008 when the economy crashed, I found myself struggling to get hours. At times I would work 12 hours a week when I was lucky and I couldn’t afford to buy cannabis anymore. I’ve always thought about growing cannabis and decided it was time I start growing cannabis for myself. I bought a couple grow books, one was ‘Jorge Cervantes “Marijuana Horticultural the Indoor/Outdoor Medical Growers Bible” I built a small 4×8 room and started my adventures. I was hooked after growing my first cannabis plant.

One year later I broke my back in an ATV accident. I was laid up for 8 months, but thankfully, with the help of my wife, we managed to keep my strains alive until I could move around again. During my hard recovery I had been using pain pills to help me manage the pain. Needless to say this prescribed medicine isn’t great for you and has dangerous side effects over time. I came to the realization that construction wasn’t in my future anymore, I turned to something I had been perfecting and something I loved doing, growing cannabis. When I went places I would smoke my flower and people would turn heads with interest and ask where they could get them some.  No one in St. Louis knew I grew cannabis but one friend and my wife. Overtime my small grow couldn’t keep up with my supply and demand.

I expanded my grow and realized I was good at growing quality craft cannabis. Slow and Steady Genetics, my business name, came from years of trial and error. I had achieved a stable of strains, Including heavy hitters, some legendary clones, some true cuts, some that I’ve pheno-hunted, and some I’ve bred. In 2021 I became a licensed grower and caregiver for several patients suffering from a range of medical illnesses, including Multiple Sclerosis, Hashimoto’s, Cancer, severely injured from car accidents, sleep disorders, anxiety, and the symptoms of aging, to which many of us can relate.

I realized that I can help others, not only by selling them top shelf weed, but by sharing my knowledge.  I began consulting on grow room set ups, sharing a range of options on successful practices and information that I have gained from years of experience, much being unknown to the general public.  In addition, I offer a range of proven quality seed genetics, heirloom seeds, clones, and a range of merchandise . This is all to your advantage when shopping or receiving consultation from Slow and Steady Genetics.

I make available my genetics, true clones and fun merchandise to the cannabis growing world representing the St. Louis area. If you’re a new or even an experienced grower it can be hard to find what you will need at a reasonable price. From personal experience, I know there is always worry about whether or not one is getting scammed or sold an inferior product with a top shelf price.  Let Slow and Steady Genetics guaranteed to help step your game up to the next level.
